The works were part of the trusts plan to progressively open the land for public open space.
The works included the removal of contaminated material and capping, constructing an amphitheater and associated landscaping as well as the car part and road realignment. Further to this the sea wall required rehabilitation addressing safety, environmental and aesthetic concerns.
